Ripasso is always a great Italian go-to as it combines the fresh, crowd-pleasing red fruit of Valpolicella with the dried, raisin-like quality of pricier Amarone. From Tenuta Sant Antonio, the “Mont Garbi” Ripasso truly succeeds at combining power with freshness, loaded with spice and ageworthy structure. The Corvina is blended with Rondinella (20%) and a dash of the more obscure Croatina and Oseleta (10%). After re-fermenting atop and then poured through the skins of Amarone, this blend was matured for one year in 500L oak casks (30% new).
