Description
In the beautiful country of Véron, cradled between the Loire and the Vienne, the Olga Raffault estate has passed on its know-how in the development of its Chinon wines for four generations. Today, Sylvie, Olga’s granddaughter, takes over with her husband Eric de la Vigerie, and they fully intend to maintain the good recipes of the past. The Olga Raffault estate covers 25 hectares of vines: 24 hectares are cultivated for Chinon Rouge and Rosé in Cabernet franc single-varietal, 1 hectare for Chinon Blanc in Chenin single-varietal. Vines with an average age of thirty years spread over 3 Terroirs producing 3 types of Chinon Rouge. The choice of terroir remains essential including soil, microclimate, grape variety and cultivation practice. The vintage or the climatic conditions encountered during the annual cycle of the vines, shape the specific character of the wine of the year, but the terroir gives the wine an easily recognizable typicity.
