The Unexpected #2 is a 10-year-old whisky from the Vanessa organic barley, aged in three types of casks – Oloroso, Amantillado (in humid cellar) and Pedro Ximenez (in dry cellar), and bottled at 50% natural strength.

Vanessa barley is organically grown, with low yields, wood distillation, producing a very distinctive aroma. A long maturation is necessary to provide Michel Couvreur’s typical characters and complex flavors.

An elegant nose with marzipan, delicate floral notes, walnut and subtle cocoa. A rich and unctuous mineral character follows through, along with candied fruits flavors, marzipan, hazelnut and mocha. The finish is long and complex with roasted notes and liquorice.
