Avni means ‘stone’ or ‘rock’ and refers to the volcanic geology of the Willamette Valley with its shallow red soils and basalt rocks. This wine certainly reflects the complexity of its terroir. It has a generous, deep, warm nose of blueberries and blackberries, mingling with redcurrants and cranberries behind. The aromas are fragrant and sightly hedonistic with a touch of violets and exotic spice.
