This program exemplifies Frank August’sm commitment to evolving and elevating the character of American whiskey-serving as a creative platform to experiment and introduce exceptional, limited expressions. CASE STUDY: 05 represents this pursuit at its most refined.

STORY: This release marks the brand’s highly anticipated debut of a wheated bourbon. Each 5-barrel batch is a blend of 6+ and 7+ year Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon Whiskey, with only eight batches bottled in total. As with all CASE STUDY releases, this is a true “one-of-one” expression – never to be produced again.

The result is a beautifully balanced whiskey with a distinct character-earning a Double Gold and an extraordinary 97/100 at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Named a ‘Best of Class’ finalist, it ranked among the top five wheated bourbons, making it eligible for the highest honor awarded by the competition, affirming both the quality of the release and Frank August’s commitment to redefining modern American whiskey.
