Description

Bernard Schoffit’s estate is based in the Alsatian Grand Cru of Ranagen de Thann. He has been slowly reclaiming steep plots near the village of Colmar for decades, which are farmed biodynamically and contain exemplary gravel/loess soils. The “Caroline” Gewurztraminer comes from 50 year old vines and is made in an off-dry style (which makes it amazing with any food that has a kick to it). A very floral bouquet leads to a ripe, medium to full bodied palate with plenty of orchard fruit, tame acidity, and hints of flinty minerals.
