This comes from just over two-thirds of a hectare of 60-year-old vines planted on brown, iron-rich soil. Fichots faces east and is located towards the foot of the slope, and is therefore shaded slightly by the hill of Corton for some of the day. The attack has pure red berry Pinot fruit, with some creamy oak and slight floral touches, while the finish is long and mineral with the austerity of Pernand providing a firm structure. Drink.
