A touch of rusticity sweeps the stern edges of this directly-pressed valdiguié and adds a level of softness to the brawny structure. White orchard fruit just-bruised characterise the fruit profile, although it feels a wine more defined by its broad shoulders and lovely angles. Generally made into a rosé, the 2020 was made into a white sparkling because of the forest fires that touched the edges of this vineyard, and tainted the grape skins with smoke. The memory of that finds a home in this textural, haunting expression of Napa wine.
