Dark, sumptuous Cru Bourgeois with an impressive nose of smoke, graphite, and cassis. Brooding and full bodied with tobacco, dark chocolate, and round fruit leading to a tightly wound finish. Malleret provide a dash of Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, yet this bottling is led by Merlot (53%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (44%). The estate uses sustainable and organic practices, and matures the blend in barrel for one year (33% new oak). This serious bottle craves an hour of air before enjoyment.
