Description

Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, the refosco “of the red stalk,” is the best known of the genetically diverse refosco group. DNA profiling shows a kinship with the varieties teroldego, lagrein, corvina, and corvinella. This wine is organically grown from 50 year old vines on predominately calcerous rich, red clay soils. The grapes are macerated in open tank before native yeast fermentation is finished in neutral French barrique. The wine is bottled with minimal sulfurs after 24 months of elevage in neutral barrique with 10% new oak.
