Growing region in south-eastern Piedmont is
Italy’s most important wine-growing region, known worldwide for the Moscato d’Asti. The expressive
grape variety “Moscate Bianco”, which has been
marked as DOCG since 1994, was already cultivated in the Middle Ages. Like the
Asti Spumante, the Moscato d’Asti is made from 100% Moscato Bianco
generated. Compared to the Asti Spumante, this excellent
wine is slightly sparkling (“frizzante”), contains a little more residual sugar
and has a lower alcohol content.
