Description
– Rowanberry eau-de-vie produced by Hans Reisetbauer in Axberg, Austria– Distilled from wild harvested rowanberries sourced from the Mühlviertel region of upper Austria at over 700 meters above sea level as well as from the Czech Republic
– Rowanberries are harvested in autumn and undergo a 12-day fermentation at 18.5 °C (65 °F)
– Distilled twice in a Christian Carl copper pot still
– Rested for a minimum of 3 years in stainless steel
– Earthy and floral with notes of cherry, almond, angelica root, and horseradish with faint allspice on the nose; the palate is elegant and refined, but punchy with cherry, violet, and orange blossom on a very floral finish; vaguely reminiscent of kirshwasser
It takes 33 kg (nearly 73 lbs) of rowanberries to produce a single liter of Hans Reisetbauer Rowanberry Eau-de-Vie. Also known as Mountain Ash, this classic Austrian eau-de-vie just so happens to be Hans’ favorite expression out of his entire range of eaux-de-vie!
