Description
Feudo Antico was launched in 2004, with the aim of reviving indigenous crops and protecting a fragile environment, while at the same time reinforcing the sense of belonging in the community. At the start our interest was focused on the native Pecorino and Passerina grapes, considered “minor” varieties, whose cultivation had long been neglected in the region for economic reasons, among others. Both, in fact, produce low yields and require the special attention that only the input of expert wine making knowledge can provide to achieve good results. Then came the reds, obtained from a cuvée of old clones of the Montepulciano, with a single variety of grape, and finally the sparkling wines, a daring experiment that led to the production of a brut wine which combines the elegance of a blanc de blanc from Chardonnay grapes with the typical body of the Abruzzo region. But the thing that distinguishes this wine making path from the others the company has followed is that behind each vineyard there is a story, something which continues to excite.
