The Pact is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the highest-elevation blocks of our Coombsville vineyard, and harvest lots are treated as separate, small-batch parcels in the cellar. The 2018 opens with fresh aromas of black cherries, black currants and blue fruits with graphite, tobacco, star anise and cocoa powder notes rounding out the finish. The Pact is defined by minerality and purity, and its fine-grained tannins and natural acidity ensures that it will last for decades.

Description

Every year, Mother Nature makes the rules, and our vineyard and winemaking teams adjust as needed. Then a vintage like 2018 comes along, and no adjustments are necessary. We simply follow the course. The weather was so cooperative that we were able to pick individual blocks on specific days. Such precision is rare — and never taken for granted — and we feel 2018 will soon take its place among Napa Valley’s Cabernet benchmarks.
