Ratings: | Ultimate Beverage Challenge 88 points – The nose is inviting with intense aromas of tropical fruit, custard, and citrus. The flavors are reminiscent of caramelized honey and roasted pineapple. The finish is long and generous with the rich flavors continuing to develop into soft spiciness. (Apr 2014) Wine Enthusiast 93 points – Pale yellow tint, and a mild, lightly fruity scent.. Smooth, silky feel. This Tequila finishes moderately smoky, with a lingering hint of caramel. Very nice. Good value for a reposado. — K.N. (May 2011) |
Tasting Notes: | Aroma: A pretty nice aroma of butterscotch and agave Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel, its sweet upon entry with very low bitterness. Initial taste was woody agave. Body: Woody agave, earth, spices, and cinnamon, with a slight fruity undertone too. Finish: A semi heated finish of medium duration with a lingering aftertaste of butterscotch/agave. |
Cocktail Suggestions: | Jimarita 1.5 oz. el Jimador Reposado 0.5 oz. Triple sec 3 oz. Sour mix HOW TO PREPARE IT The clean, crisp agave notes from el Jimador Reposado mix beautifully with citrus notes of triple sec, in our new take on the classic margarita. Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and pour into a salt-rimmed old fashioned glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. |
