Located on the VIA AURELIA, the Campdumy estate (“harvest fields” in old Provençal) has a rich historical past, as evidenced by certain Roman remains: The milestone dating from NERON (58 AD) was found on the estate and is currently located in our tasting cellar. André Gavoty, literary journalist at the Revue Des Deux Mondes, then in charge, entrusted management of the estate in 1960 to his nephew Pierre (1925-2006). Bernard Gavoty, (1906-1980) music critic at Le Figaro, heir to Petit Campdumy, wrote under the pseudonym CLARENDON then joined forces with Pierre to organize joint marketing of the wines of the two farms: Petit and Grand Campdumy.
