Description

Located in the heart of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in the town of Mercurol (left bank of the Rhône), the Domaine de la Ville Rouge is a family farm created by Paul Girard in 1919. At its beginning the farm had a few hectares of vines the grapes were delivered to the cooperative cellar. Subsequently, it was Gaston who managed the property, then Edgar, his son, moved in in 1975 and took over all of the land.
Since then, the estate has expanded and modernized. In 2006, Sébastien, having finished his studies, joined his father. Since this date, winemaking has been done entirely on the estate and it covers almost twenty hectares. In 2016 Audrey, Sébastien’s wife joined the estate and took charge of the administrative part.
