Description

The vines are located in the middle of hillsides on clay soils with gravel and rolled pebbles. All our vines are managed with the greatest respect for the terroir: cultivated soils, green manure in the fall, natural grassing, leaf removal after flowering, controlled yield, manual harvesting at slight overripeness. (official organic certification). The grape varieties that make up Esprit de Basté are Tannat (75%) and Cabernet-Franc (25%). The grapes are vinified in small, large vats, separated by plot and grape variety. A long maceration (4 weeks) precedes several months of aging in old barrels and vats.
