Description

Chateau d’Or & the Gueules is located at the edge of Camargue in the south of France in the wine region called “Costières de Nimes”. A spontaneous translation of the vineyard’s name gives it’s somewhat strange name of “Gold & Jaw winery”. Though, “Gueule” does not only means “jaw”, but it is also the word for the red color in old French. The vineyard’s proper name is therefore “The Red & Gold vineyard”. The name comes from Diane de Puymorin’s coat of arms that is meant to characterize the family’s wine production. The gold stands for the southern French sun’s power and strength, and the red color symbolizes the character and richness. The wines have indeed great personality, sophistication and elegance. The vines grow on land that is exposed in ideal south / south-easterly direction over 50 hectars of land.
