A pleasing wine, round, supple and fruity.

Textbook Saint-Emilion from a historic chateau (built in 1860) that was acquired by Baron de Rothschild in 2003. The 36 hectare estate features south-facing slopes with limestone-clay soils that impart a strong mineral character to their wines. This complex and ageworthy bottle was matured for 14 months in a combination of new oak (30%), one year old barrels (30%), and large neutral vats (40%). Serious and full bodied with supple dark plum, Provencal herbs, and green bell pepper atop a firm core of tannins and earth.
