Description
The manor with Tuscan columns, with its cellars and its enclosure, was the home of Capuchin Luillier, author of “Mâconnais Christmases” in the 17th century. It is one of the oldest houses in the village of Fuissé, it was probably built in 1602, and my great-grandfather Antoine FOREST known as “Tony”, former president of the producers’ union of Pouilly-Fuissé, made it acquired in 1921.For the next two generations, the vines were farmed by sharecroppers, my grandparents being dentists and my father having decided to make his life in the south of France. I grew up in Nice and in 1998, wanting to resume tradition, I decided to begin studying viticulture and oenology.
In 2002, I settled on this estate which today has 13.5 hectares including 9.6 hectares of Pouilly Fuissé, 2 hectares of Mâcon Solutré-Pouilly, 1 hectare of Mâcon Villages and 0.88 hectare Saint Véran. My goal is to revive this manor where the soul of my ancestors and their passion for wine reign. Today I am part of an association: Women and Wines of Burgundy which brings together around forty women who all take care of the winemaking of their estates.
