Description
Foulaquier is a place whose heart beats between the walls of a very old farmhouse, set in a landscape of Mediterranean scrubland. The first traces of civilization date back to the year 1000. The estate’s archives date back to 1445, valuable witnesses to a history written by numerous families, from Brissac to Condamy, to the last farmer owners, André and his father, who exploited the land until 1974.Wine is first born from the collusion between a place and a man or woman. Pierre was the first to encounter Mas Foulaquier, in 1998. His deep passion for wine and his intense desire to pursue an artisanal profession pushed him to swap his architect’s clothes for the winemaker’s blue wine. His quest for the dream estate finds its epilogue somewhere in Languedoc. Pierre finds his playground at the foot of Pic Saint-Loup: a farmhouse beautifully preserved in its own juice, young vines but superb terroir!
Blandine arrived a few years later, in 2003. A parliamentary official in Paris, she began to flirt with wine in the tastings of the oenophile club of the National Assembly then decided to marry him for good: harvests in Cairanne, pruning in the Muscadet, writing a book entitled “Portraits of Winegrowers”, BTS viticulture and oenology from Mâcon, she traces a bush route until settling in Anjou… before joining Pierre at Mas Foulaquier.
Since the first vintage, in 1999, Mas Foulaquier has evolved considerably and remains more dynamic than ever. Blow ? This would mean ignoring the projects that constantly drive Blandine and Pierre.
