Domaine Chamonard is a small winery located in the heart of Beaujolais. It produces organic and natural wines from the vineyards it cultivates in Villié-Morgon. The vineyard for Chamonard Morgon covers 4.5 hectares, and consists of vines with an average age of 60 to 80 years in granitic soils. They are cultivated organically. The plots are located in Martillets, Chenes and Corcelette. The grapes are harvested at the peak of ripeness. Part of the Chamonard Morgon harvest is vatted whole and the rest is destemmed and pressed before vatting it. In this way a carbonic semi-maceration is carried out and a fruity and complex wine is obtained. It is fermented with native yeasts, and once the wine is finished it undergoes ageing period of 8 to 12 months in foudres. The ageing time depends on the quality of the harvest and the ageing potential of the wine. Chamonard Morgon is a rich and full wine, with a good acidity balanced by earthy touches, flowers, violets and notes of iron. On the palate it is velvety but lively.
