Description
Graziano Prà’s Soave “Otto” is one of the reference wines when it comes to this historic area, which is located a few kilometers east of Verona. It is produced with 100% Garganega, an autochthonous white grape variety, which in the Classic area of Soave, on black basalt soils of ancient volcanic origin, has found the best conditions to produce wines with floral aromas and yellow fruit aromas , enriched with mineral nuances. Graziano Prà has been able to best interpret this territory, in the sign of freshness and elegance.
Prà Soave “Otto” comes from the grapes of the vineyards located in the historic family estate of Monteforte d’Alpone, in the heart of the Classica area. The vines are grown on volcanic soils, at an altitude between 150 and 250 meters, with south-east exposure. The vines are between 30 and 60 years old and the training system is the traditional Veronese pergola, which provides a yield per hectare of less than 70 quintals. The harvest takes place, depending on the vintage, between mid-September and mid-October. After the soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. The wine ages in steel for a few months before being put on sale.
The Otto wine is Graziano Prà’s Soave which best expresses the characteristics of the Garganega and the volcanic soils of Monteforte d’Alpone. The aging in steel, in fact, helps to enhance the varietal profile of the grapes in the name of finesse and freshness, also enhancing the typical mineral notes of the terroir. The color is straw yellow. The nose opens on delicate aromas of white flowers, pleasant fruity aromas of yellow peach and apricot. The sip is agile and fresh, with juicy fruit, good aromatic persistence and a finish that closes on savory and mineral notes.
