Created by certified Maestro Tequilero Guillermo Barroso Arnaud, El Pintor is an expression of Arnaud’s quest to find balance between the art and science of tequila creation. Utilizing highland agave cooked in autoclaves for 10 hours, the clean steamed agave is then fermented with ancestral yeasts from the hacienda that’s been cultivated for decades. The tequila is then slowly distilled on very small copper pot stills. The spirit rests in used bourbon barrels for between 3-4 years before a proprietary filtration processes is used to remove the subtle amber color. The resulting tequila is distinctly in the modern style and designed to evoke the dynamic culture of Mexico today, a culture filled with art and contemporary design but distinctly rooted in a complex history. The contrast between new and old expressed in the crystalline color, bright fresh aromatics, and soft, rounded, aged tequila flavors. For those who want the experience of an ultra-premium modern tequila like Casa Dragones, but without the diffusers or extreme price tag.
