This Saumur Rouge 2018 has an intense ruby red color, with reflections tending to purplish. This is because it is still young and we can verify it from the nose, where in spite of everything it already expresses very distinct spicy and juniper berries notes, together with licorice, ripe red fruits (morello cherry).
The mouth is also lively and fresh, with elegant floral aromas of rose and violet, fruits that return to the palate, acidity present but already well balanced. Long sip that ends in a slightly spicy finish. It can be accompanied with not too elaborate meat dishes.

Domaine Guiberteau produces Loire wines in the Saumur area, an area in contrast to the rest of the region (famous for its great Sauvignons) where Chenin Blanc reigns supreme.
The domaine is 9.4 hectares, 7 of which are in the great terroir of Brézé. Just over half of the area is planted to Chenin and the rest to Cabernet Franc. The age of the vines varies from 4 to 80 years, with a high proportion of old vines. In 2000, Romain converted the vineyards to organic management and in 2003 began the process towards AB organic certification, obtaining it in 2007.
In just a few years, the wines of Domaine Guiberteau have attracted the attention of the great international critics, making it one of the most sought-after Domaines in Saumur.
