Garvey’s winery, Bodegas Garvey, was established in 1780 by William Garvey, an Irish aristocrat from the county of Waterford who in a short space of time managed to turn Garvey into one of the major bodegas of Jerez. Its unique soil called “Albariza” (a kind of white, chalky soil), special Palomino grapes, along with the temperature and the sun of Southern Andalusia combine in such a way to make real, authentic Sherry wine.
