Description

Our 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon brims with ripe, concentrated aromas of black currant, loganberry and fig, underscored by threads of warm spice and mocha. The wine’s lush core of ripe brambly fruit persists through the finish. Full-bodied, with a supple mouthfeel and approachable tannins, this Cabernet pairs well with portbraised beef short ribs topped with mint leaves.

Vineyards

The fruit for our 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon was carefully selected from prime vineyards in some of Napa Valley’s best regions, including St. Helena, Oak Knoll and Rutherford. Winemaker Joe Shirley’s commitment to sourcing fruit from the best regions in Napa ensures a classic wine that showcases the essence of a quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Harvest

The 2015 growing season in Napa Valley started out with unseasonably warm temperatures in late winter and early spring, which resulted in an early bud break and
bloom. Overall, the vintage was defined by high quality fruit and lower yields.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-harvested in the cool morning hours to ensure optimal flavor. At the winery, the fruit was hand-sorted, gently de-stemmed and lightly crushed.
Following a 10- to 16-day maceration period to maximize color and flavor extraction and to also polish the tannins, the wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels.
