Tasting Notes: | Nose: Rich, buttery nose, flavors include vanilla, honey, oranges, and a well balanced backdrop of leather and spice. Palate: With hints of raisins and honey |
Awards: | 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Silver LA Whisk(e)y Society Rating C The finish is sweet on the nose but oaky on the palate. This is a wonderfully balanced bourbon with a lot of complexity. Ultimate Beverage Challenge 94 points – (Great Value)- Eye-catching bronze, burnt orange color. Aromatics are sweet, raisiny at first then they unfold in plump waves of cookie batter, spiced orange, candied citrus rind, honey wheat toast. Warming flavors of cigar tobacco, candied almond, treacle, butter brickle, honeysuckle make for endless gustatory enjoyment. Finishes slightly fiery (no surprise), toasty, sap sweet, oaky, very intense. Not recommended for bourbon novices. (Mar 2015) |
